ATEN Technology, Inc. has released new 8 and 16-port IP KVM switches with built-in IP remote access. Designed and priced specifically for the small and medium-size business (SMB) market, the KH1508i and KH1516i CAT5 KVM features 8-port and 16-port respectively.
Both models are multi-platform compliant with PC, Mac, Sun, and terminal-based systems, and they are part of the ALTUSEN line of enterprise-class KVM offerings from ATEN.
Daisy chained, the KVM switches are able to provide local and remote access of up to 128 and 256 servers.
The KH1508i/KH1516i are now available, and they are priced at $849.95 and $999.95. This compares favorably with well-known brands such as Avocent and Raritan, which easily cost upwards of $2k or more for similar configurations.
