Just when I thought “BlackBerry Thumb” was the new craze at massage parlors, a news story came along about the growing popularity of tech neck massages and cell phone facials. Check out the article, “Spas try new therapies to tackle workplace woes.”

According to the story, “Therapies to treat workplace woes such as a sore thumb from tapping on a handheld computer, the aches of ‘tech neck’ from typing on a laptop or even skin irritation from chatting on a cell phone are the latest rage to hit high-end spas, where the weary can seek relief at the end of an arduous workday.”

So, how much can you expect to spend for a cell phone facial? “Aida Bicaj… offers cell-phone facials at $225 a session in a townhouse on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.”

I have to confess that I’ve never had a facial, but I can’t imagine spending more than what it would cost for a bar of soap and maybe some of that fancy avocado or cucumber mask cream. Maybe I’m being a simpleton here, but wouldn’t it make more sense to periodically clean your phone and wash your face on a daily basis?
