Job Title : Group CIO

Organization : Wolseley

What they say about him: “One of the many Mars IT guys who’s used that excellent all-round training as a springboard for great things. His career in retail – dynamic, hugely customer-centric and needing to build business critical systems with sod-all money – has enabled him to bring a fresh view to Wolesley. Also brilliant at getting the best out of suppliers.”

Rod Angwin joined Wolseley in 2005 and is responsible for IT across the FTSE100 distributor of heating and plumbing supplies. He delivers the overall business change programme and is an advisory member of the group executive committee.

Angwin’s 26-year career in IT began in 1981 as a trainee with BT and he also worked in various roles with Mars and software house JBA before moving into the retail and wholesale distribution sectors.

In 1995 Angwin joined supermarket chain Safeway as director of business services and then moved across to become director of business IT development. He then joined Meyer International (now part of St Gobain) as group IT director and, prior to Wolseley, was IT director at DIY retail group B&Q.
