Organization : IT Director
This year Jane Kimberlin makes her debut on the CIO50 list. She has more than 20 years’ experience in IT, and in the last 12 months, the systems she has put in have made big material gains for her company, particularly in the field of online sales.
Domino’s online sales passed 20 per cent of total half-year sales in July 2008. It broke the £1m in a weekend for web sales in January 2009. Both of these milestones have outstripped online shopping growth trends by a country mile.
However, the front-end web systems are also backed by an integrated till system and business intelligence application that allows online orders to be fulfilled within 15 minutes to keep the product fresh and tasty.
Kimberlin has also launched ordering over Facebook and by SMS.
She joined the company as CIO in 2006 from Scottish & Newcastle, before that, she did stints at a variety of companies including Eli Lilly and Tonka Toys.
Unusually, Kimberlin came to IT through a marketing background, while working for a cards and calendars manufacturer.
When not at work, she can often be found in the clouds, as she is a keen private pilot.
