This is Myron Hrycyk’s first year on the CIO50 list, although he has been a high profile IT head for some years and has more than two decades of experience in the technology sector.

He joined Severn Trent in April 2008, coming from NYK Logistics, where he was involved in a number plate recognition security system.

At Severn Trent, he is executive sponsor of the company’s SAP/ERP business transformation programme, and on the steering group of the company’s accommodation programme that includes the building of a new head office and the deployment of new technology that is required to support an organisation with more than eight million customers.

He is also driving through major strategic change in the organisation’s IT unit.

An MBA graduate from Birmingham University, he has held CIO positions in financial services, publishing, automotive and distribution sectors.

Hrycyk is a member of the British Computer Society and chair of CIO Connect’s advisory board, an IT leaders’ networking organisation.
