Since joining Aviva in January 2008 Toby Redshaw has helped drive forward cost savings within the IT team and spread web 2.0 technologies across the global financial services group.
These include delivering a social networking and intranet platform across the global group and several modern BPM-based processes.
Before joining Aviva, Redshaw spent six years at Motorola where his responsibilities included ebusiness, implementing common platforms and enterprise data warehousing/analytics.
Redshaw’s career has taken him around the world with stints in Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. He’s also worked in Silicon Valley where he helped build up a dot-com business, running international business units in both Europe and China.
Redshaw’s early career was spent at FedEx – where he was CIO for one of the major business units – but he has also advised several tech companies and been executive chairman of start-up MediaRiver.
In the past, he has chaired the Innovation Network at the Kellogg Graduate School of Business as well as ebusiness standards group, the RosettaNet Council.
Redshaw is a board member of World Cataract Foundation, which works to cure blindness in developing countries.
