Jim Slack joined Co-operative Financial Services (CFS) as director of development and change delivery in 2004. He became CIO in November 2008 and then business leader of IT operations and development in May 2009.

He now oversees IT operations, development, design and testing as well as management services and strategic partnerships.

Slack has previously worked as a programmer, project leader, and head of development services. Before joining CFS, he worked for TSB where he was head of production services before the bank became Lloyds TSB and he took the role of head of service introduction.

He started his career as a trainee programmer with Neill Tools in Sheffield in 1978 after graduating from Leeds University,

Slack is married with two children and is a big fan of the Sale Sharks rugby union side and Tottenham Hotspur FC.
