Job Title : Group CIO

Organization : LCH.Clearnet

Martin Taylor is group CIO of LCH.Clearnet, an independent clearing house that stands in the middle of trades, serving major financial exchanges and markets by facilitating trading and increasing confidence within the market. He joined the company in 2006 as interim CIO, becoming group CIO six months later in January 2007.

Despite being an arts graduate with a Masters degree in English Literature, Taylor is a life-long IT professional, starting his career at British Airways in 1976, before moving to Mars in the 1980s where he spent a decade with the company. Other positions Taylor has held in a career spanning more than three decades include consulting to US entrepreneur Paul Allen’s European private equity business, and a non-executive position on UK governmental police and security IT boards.

In his spare time Taylor indulges his passion for sailing.
