Job Title : CIO
Organization : Severn Trent
Myron Hrycyk heads up the IT department at one of the UK’s largest water utilities, Severn Trent, where he has held the position of CIO for more than two years.
He returns to the CIO50 after featuring in last year’s list.
Under his stewardship, IT at the FTSE 100 company has become more fully integrated with the rest of the business while service delivery has improved measurably.
Hrycyk is the executive sponsor for the company’s SAP ERP transformation project. The first phase of which was successfully implemented in December 2009, with a second phase already underway that will replace the company’s legacy asset management system.
He’s also involved in the company’s new head office build programme, which will see the introduction of desktop virtualisation and collaboration technologies to allow staff to work in new ways and enable a higher degree of mobility.
Prior to joining Severn Trent, Hrycyk also worked in CIO roles in both the distribution and publishing sectors. He also holds an MBA from Birmingham University.
Hrycyk is currently a member of the British Computer Society and chair of CIO Connect’s advisory board, a networking organisation for IT leaders.
