With more than 25 years’ experience in the IT industry, Thwaite today serves as CIO for UBS Global Asset Management.

In this role, Thwaite is responsible for organising and managing IT for the asset management firm, taking care of all aspects of its technology needs in its operations worldwide – from strategy through to deployment.

Thwaite is also a member of the group technology executive committee and the UBS Global AM crisis-management committee.

He joined UBS Global Asset Management in 2007, before which he was global head of IT service management at UBS Investment Bank, responsible for the delivery of IT service management tools and processes worldwide.

Before joining UBS, Thwaite held various roles at Ford Motor Company and was the IT director for Ford of Europe, where he led a 1,500-strong IT organisation and was responsible for IT production, infrastructure and development.

Thwaite is chair of the UBS UK disAbility Awareness Network and in the past has been shortlisted for a Disability Champion Award, receiving credit for his work in setting up a UBS employee disability network.
