Simon Post is a regular on the silicon.com CIO50 list, with top 10 appearances in 2008 and 2009. He once again returns to the top 10 for the 2011 CIO50.
Post is group operations director of Best Buy Europe (BBE) – the joint venture set up by mobile phone and broadband retailer The Carphone Warehouse (TCPW) and US retail giant Best Buy. He is responsible for shared services, supply chain, business change and procurement across all BBE’s brands in Europe, which includes Best Buy, Geek Squad and TCPW.

Before joining TCPW, Post was group IT and strategy director at BSkyB. During four years with the media company he oversaw a complete organisational and process transformation, and an update to much of its core IT infrastructure.
Post’s early career included a spell in consulting. He was a partner at Arthur Andersen, with responsibility for running its global ebusiness and advanced technology teams. He has also previously worked at Stanford Research Institute spin-off Atomic Tangerine, commercialising technology intellectual property from companies and research laboratories.
Post has four children and a passion for gadgets.
