A regular face on the CIO50 list, Tony Mather is CIO of Clear Channel International (CCI), part of the out-of-home advertising company which operates in 44 countries. Here, Mather is responsible for setting the agenda for the company’s international information and technology change programme.
Mather joined CCI in 2010 from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), where he sat on the board and led a series of transformation initiatives – including Future Firecrest, a project seeking to enable more modern ways of working via upgrades to the department’s global IT infrastructure.
Prior to joining the FCO in 2007, Mather was IM services director at industrial gases company The BOC Group. He has also held managerial positions at food retailer Safeway and Pepsi Beverages Company. During an IT career that spans more than 25 years, Mather has also done stints at British Airways and insurance giant Friends Provident.
Mather holds a BSc in mechanical engineering from the University of Surrey and an MBA from Kingston University. Outside work, he is a keen athlete and thrillseeker – enjoying marathon running, skydiving and also coaching rugby at his local club.
