Job Title : CIO Global Technology
Organization : Deutsche Bank
Anthony McCarthy joined Deutsche Bank in 1997 and was appointed CIO for its Global Technology division in 2011.
In his role, McCarthy has created an integrated technology organisation that builds stronger engagement between technology and the businesses it serves, as well as significantly improving efficiency, collaboration, security and systems monitoring at the bank.
With the bank growing more dependent on its technology, in September Deutsche Bank’s new management board announced Strategy 2015 – an intensive three-year period of change in which Global Technology will play an instrumental role, involving McCarthy in developing technology’s role in the future direction of the bank.
Before taking up his current role, McCarthy was Deutsche Bank’s CIO for Capital Markets where he was responsible for technology delivery for many of the bank’s businesses.
McCarthy has also spent several years in the financial-services industry, working for Morgan Stanley where he held a number of CIO roles. He also worked as head of systems development in Morgan Stanley’s Tokyo office, and later head of Far East Information Technology.
