Job Title : Group CIO
Organization : LGC
As group CIO for analytical, diagnostic and forensics company LGC, Gideon Kay is in charge of realising technology projects central to the future of the business.
Kay is overseeing the implementation of a group wide-ERP system, as well as integrating IT platforms across the company. His role gives him overall responsibility for IT strategy, security and disaster recovery, and last year he also assumed responsibility for LGC’s marketing, PR and comms.
During his two years with LGC, Kay has used technology to foster better ways of working, particularly in the fields of social networking, productivity and technology-enabled laboratory processes. He recently led a major transformation of the laboratory workflow-management system.
He has over 20 years’ experience in IT management, leadership and consulting – having held senior roles with both Balfour Beatty and Arthur Andersen, for which he consulted across a wide range of industries.
Kay, who studied computer science and software engineering at Birmingham University, also recently completed two triathlons and the London 100km Nightride.
