Job Title : Head of group IT
Organization : Schroders
Matthew Oakeley is head of group IT at asset-management company Schroders, which looks after more than £190bn for institutional and retail investors.
He has been with Schroders for seven years, overseeing IT strategy, applications and infrastructure for the London-based company, which has 33 offices in 26 countries.
Oakeley, who has a background as a developer, analyst and project manager, was previously global head of investment IT at UBS Global Asset Management, another financial specialist with an international reach.
When not at work, Oakeley pursues a keen interest in classical music and choral singing. In fact, he ran the UK’s largest amateur choir for a number of years before family life with his four young children became the priority.
