2012 is Mittu Sridhara’s fifth year on the CIO50 – and he has featured on the list holding three separate CIO roles.

Sridhara is currently CIO at TUI Travel, the travel company whose brands include First Choice and Airtours – a position he took earlier this year. Sridhara is a member of TUI Travel’s group management board, a reflection of the importance of developing common technology platforms across the company, from where he supports the primarily web-driven business.

Before TUI Travel, Sridhara was group CIO at Ladbrokes, where he worked from 2008 after joining from Sabre Holdings where he was VP of technology and product marketing. There, he was responsible for product strategy and delivery as well as integrating technology acquisitions at the company, which provides IT services to the travel industry and whose brands include Travelocity and lastminute.com.

The job was his second at Sabre – Sridhara was also senior director of technology solutions for the company for several years in the 1990s. He has also previously held CIO roles at Avis Europe and Versapoint, a European broadband joint-venture where he built the IT teams and business platforms.
