Job Title : Programme director for ICT Shared Services
Organization : Plymouth City Council
As the programme director for ICT Shared Services at Plymouth City Council, Neville Cannon is helping Plymouth use more efficient, modern technologies to save money and improve services.
Over the years he has been with Plymouth City Council, he has transformed the organisation's IT infrastructure by getting rid of old mainframes and bringing in new technology.
Along with these changes, he has rationalised the entire fleet of desktops and undertaken one of the largest Microsoft Lync rollouts outside the US.
His current big project is to move everything to a state where the council can deliver shared IT services to multiple departments.
"We still need to address big societal issues and we can't do that simply by operating within our organisation silos," Cannon says.
