Job Title : IT director general and CIO

Organization : Department for Work and Pensions

Philip Langsdale joined the Department for Work and Pensions as IT director general and CIO at the end of summer.

He was previously the CIO at BAA, where he was responsible for developing and transforming IT services to deliver better value to stakeholders.

Langsdale has had a long career in IT, having occupied senior IT roles at Asda, Midland Bank and the BBC. He has also acted as the IT adviser to the board of British Airways and was the managing partner of an independent consultancy business, Langsdale Crook.

During his spare time, Langsdale enjoys music, sailing and mathematics. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
