Tiffany Hall is the technology controller for the Operations, Finance and Future Media Groups of the BBC. In this role, Hall is responsible for defining the technology strategy for the group, overseeing its technology investment and acting as its technical authority.
She represents these departments and Future Media on pan-BBC technology projects and policy groups and ensures these initiatives are appropriately communicated and rolled out in client departments. In addition to this wide-ranging role, she also sets the strategy for all pan-BBC business support systems.
Hall joined the BBC in 1995 and held a number of technology management roles in News before becoming head of technology for News in 2000, followed by technology controller for the BBC's Nations and Regions division in January 2006.
She was CIO from October 2009 to May 2011, when she took up her current role.
Before the BBC, Hall spent seven years in information systems with Shell UK and a period in educational publishing. She has a degree in maths with computing from Durham University.
