The CIO50 list 2012 has been published, setting out the most influential CIOs in the UK according to the votes of their peers.
Number one on the list this year is Paul Coby, IT director at John Lewis. He previously topped the CIO50 list back in 2007, when he was CIO at British Airways.
Coby joined John Lewis in March 2011 after 10 years at BA, and is responsible for overseeing the John Lewis IT division and supporting the John Lewis website, which now accounts for about one fifth of the retailer’s revenue.
Other CIOs listed in the top 10 include David Lister, global CIO at National Grid, Jane Moran, global CIO at Thomson Reuters, and Gerry Pennell, the CIO of London 2012.
This is the sixth annual CIO50 and the first time the list has been published on TechRepublic. The rankings were announced at a CIO-only reception on Thursday night in London. The list of 50 CIOs is compiled from the votes of UK CIOs, who are asked to rate their peers in terms of their leadership ability, delivery and execution, innovation, and influence.
