has rated the 10 Strangest Things in Space, as in yet another ranked list of astrophysical phenomena designed to be easily dugg, slashdotted, and Google-bombed. Color me suckered, because I love this crap. Apparently, I’m the only one, because even the most “bizarre” item on the list–vacuum energy–only rated a measly 3.7 out of 10 on the visual weirdness scale (as determined by readers, based on the associated image).

Considering that everything on this list has been buzzing around leading edge sci-fi for about a decade or so, the typical space geek has had plenty of time to get acclimated to fanciful notions of galactic cannibalism and gravity waves. You gotta love geek culture when dark matter theory and exoplanet sightings are considered normal.
