This week’s quibble comes from the January 15 edition of Geek Trivia, “Failure or success(ion).” TechRepublic member jscali61 dinged me for a poor choice of titular shorthand.

“In the fifth paragraph, mention is made of the ‘Senate president’ being part of the line of succession, instead of the president pro tempore of the Senate. The VP is Senate president, and he can’t die twice.”

You’re quite right, dear reader, the U.S. vice president’s full title is vice president of the United States, president of the United States Senate. Shortening the president pro tempore of the Senate’s title to Senate president could lead to some confusion, and I do apologize. Thanks for straightening me out, and keep those quibbles coming.
