GeekGirlCon hosted its first annual convention October 8-9, 2011 in Seattle. According to the event site, “GeekGirlCon is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting awareness of and celebrating the contribution and involvement of women in all aspects of the sciences, science fiction, comics, gaming and related Geek culture through conventions and events that emphasize both the historic and ongoing contribution and influence of women in this culture.”

The TechRepublic gallery Seattle hosts the very first GeekGirlCon features photos of the Masquerade, the panels, kiddo attendees, and more. Here are two photos from our gallery.
