Firefox is celebrating it’s

first birthday! That’s right, on the 9th of November the groundbreaking Firefox web-browser was one

year old with over 106 million downloads.

It’s estimated that Firefox

currently serves 9% or surfers, with 85% being held by Internet Explorer. That sounds small, but when you consider that

all other browsers combined make up the remaining 6% (which would Netscape etc),

plus the fact that Internet Explorer comes pre-installed with Windows, it’s not

a bad feat in 12 months. I have used Firefox since its release

and could never go back to Internet Explorer.

Being a developer in the past I would always prefer Firefox for testing as it

followed W3C standards much more closely that

Microsoft’s offering. If you haven’t tried

it yet then give it a go—It’s free so there’s nothing to lose!
