Hewlett-Packard is claiming that its dc7800 line of ultra-slim desktops is the industry’s first business desktop to include an SSD option.

You have the option of adding a 16 GB SSD from SanDisk or sticking with the standard 80 GB SATA option.

This desktop obviously isn’t for anyone. Space-constrained areas, such as office receptions or the counter of a retail store come to mind. Personally, I see a few benefits of going SSD on a business machine, especially with the current price premium that SSD commands.

Still, there’s no harm getting one for your desktop if you are a senior executive in your company.

According to the HP’s pricing page, a basic configuration with the SSD option will set you back $1,198.
