It helps control security threats, popups, and spyware from intruding into your system. It is Microsoft Antispyware taken to the next level in Windows Vista. It also includes a real-time protection feature that constantly monitors your system and provides recommendations when applicable.

In my opinion, Window Defender Beta 2 is the right move for Microsoft to make as it is important to have an antispyware solution built into the operating system. This is just another example of Microsoft really taking security seriously in Windows Vista.
