JetBrains this week announced the availability of IntelliJ IDEA 5.0, the next version of the popular Java IDE.
The new commercial development tool focuses on increasing developer productivity by allowing programmers to concentrate on functionality, rather than mundane coding tasks.
Some of the new features the company are flaunting include enhanced Java Server Pages(JSP) support, ability to validate code on the fly, new internationalisation tools, enhanced codebase navigation, increased refactoring support, and a more flexible debugger.
IntelliJ IDEA 5.0 is priced at US$499 per licence. Developers who purchased IntelliJ IDEA 4.5 after May 1 will be able to download the upgrade free of charge via the JetBrains Web site.
