We caught up with Mike Canon-Brookes, founder and CEO of Atlassian Software Systems while at Web Directions South and asked him if he had any advice for software developers thinking of starting their own software company.

Atlassian was recognised in 2005 by business analysis firm Deloitte as one of the fastest growing firms in the Asia Pacific region, and in 2006 Mike and co-founder Scott Farquhar were named Ersnt and Young Australian Entrepreneurs of the year.

Atlassian’s products include issue tracking software JIRA, Confluence — an enterprise Wiki and Bamboo, a continuous integration system.
