Sysinternals, acquired by Microsoft in July, 2006, has created some of the best Windows utilities for network administrators and help desk analysts. Security administrators should pay particular attention to Sysinternals’ security utilities, like AccessChk (a tool that shows the accesses a user or group has to files, Registry keys or Windows services) and Process Explorer (a handy tool that shows the files, registry keys and other objects processes have open, which DLLs they have loaded, etc.).
