The Atlantis Revelation, the third installment in Thomas Greanias’ Atlantis trilogy, was released yesterday by Atria Books. The first two books in the series are Raising Atlantis and The Atlantis Prophecy. We’ll publish TechRepublic contributor Edmond Woychowsky’s review of The Atlantis Revelation in Geekend in the near future. In the meantime, you can read an excerpt from The Atlantis Revelation on the Simon & Schuster site. (Please note: TechRepublic and Simon & Schuster are CBS properties.)
Since I know many Geekenders are book and film buffs, I’m passing along information about a movie trailer mashup contest for The Atlantis Revelation. Here’s a brief rundown: You make a movie trailer for The Atlantis Revelation, using two required elements (a live video shot of the hardcover book and the book cover art) and any video or audio content — they even provide several downloadable Atlantis elements. You post your video on YouTube and send them the video link. If your trailer is one of the 10 finalists, it will be critiqued by writer/producer Ed Neumeier (Robocop and Starship Troopers) and legendary video game creator Flint Dille (the recent Transformers and Fantastic Four). If you win, you’ll receive a MinoHD Flip-Video Camera, and your trailer will air on CBS.com. The mashup deadline is September 15, 2009.
For complete contest details, please visit the Thomas Greanias site. (To view information about the contest on the author’s site, you will need to enter your e-mail address.)
