Moving on

Well readers, the time has come to move on...

If you are a regular reader of Builder Blogs and the Builder Weekly newsletter you may have been confused by the fact that the Web site has had two editors for the past couple of months. Be confused no longer — it's with great pride and optimism that I now can announce Matthew Overington as the new editor of Builder AU.

In the few short months Matt has done a top job bringing new ideas, new skills and a fresh outlook toBuilder AU. I don't think we could have found anyone better in the IT journo community to head up the largest community Web site for software developers in Australia. The future most certainly looks bright.

Personally, it will be sad to hand over the reins to Builder AU. It has been a wild ride that started almost four years ago when CNET Networks decided to take on the challenging task of starting a Web community for software developers in Australia. It was a gamble that has paid off, and I'd like to thank everyone in the community for their feedback, tips, and abuse over the years.
I'd like to thank all the contributors who have really made the site what it is — a site written by developers for developers. I'd also like to thank the various vendors and user groups who have helped in a variety of ways to make Builder AU a success.

However, I won't be too far away from the Builder AU action. In fact, I'll be sitting next to Matt, continuing to write this blog, and I will be working closely with the community and editorial team to help launch new features (and a new redesign) on Builder AU. I'll also be looking at helping launch some exciting new CNET Networks technologies and Web sites. (But, shhh! More on this later!).

Thanks again, and good luck Matt!
