Apples OS-X is a great looking OS with a BSD base

underneath, the interface is wonderful for non-technical users and the

flexibility and control gives more hardcore users a nice balance between Linux

and Windows.  OS-X users have long boasted

about the lack of vulnerability in the OS, however recently there have been a

few issues arising—SecurityFocus

reported that Apple released a patch fixing at least 20 flaws including a vulnerability

(allowing execution of arbitrary code) in the Safari web-browser.  There has also been concern over the appearance

of OS-X viruses—could

it be that the only reason OS-X has enjoyed such a trouble free past was the

low takeup?  With the increasing usage of

this operating system I would think we are likely to see increased threat.
