Packeteer Networks, provider of network traffic management solutions, will soon make available faster traffic analysis products that can scale up to 20 Gbits/sec.

An excerpt from NetworkWorld:

Current PacketShapers top out at 1 Gbits/s. The new device, code-named Turbo, can boost that to 6 Gbits/s, the company says. In a year or so the company says it will release devices that reach 20 Gbits/s.

Powered by Multicore Octeon processors from Cavium Networks, the networking gear will allow application level and intra-application level analysis as well.

Initially the products will be add-ons to boost the present PacketShaper appliances.
