With the Mango release of Windows Phone 7 (WP7), Microsoft addressed a number of the shortcomings that developers found in the original release, such as not being able to get access to the camera and other sensors. At the same time, WP7 is also potentially expanding market share, now that the first wave of Nokia phones has been released (albeit it was rather underwhelming). For me, the new development opportunities with Mango are exciting, and take it from “you can build toys” to “you can build enterprise applications and consumer apps that do great things,” but other developers may see the release merely as catch up. Has the Mango release changed your mind about developing for WP7?
