Apple’s latest iPhone OS, iOS 4, is now available to download for the iPhone and the iPod Touch (not including first-generation models). Unfortunately, the rollout is already causing problems for some users.

CNET blogger Josh Lowensohn says that users “…have been experiencing heavily extended download times, as well as download failures on the software update.” And ZDNet blogger Jason D. O’Grady has already received feedback that some users are experiencing performance issues when using the new OS on older devices.

If you have already downloaded iOS 4, please answer these quick poll questions to let us know your first thoughts about the software update.

If you have not downloaded iOS 4 yet, read CNET News Senior Editor Donald Bell’s five-step walkthrough of how to upgrade to iOS 4.

Keep in mind this compatibility note from site on Apple’s site: “iOS 4 works with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G. Not all features are compatible with all devices. For example, multitasking is available only with iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.”
