If Windows won’t copy your PowerPoint presentation directly to CD when you try PowerPoint’s Publish Package For CD feature, it could be because your computer’s CD writing program is incompatible with PowerPoint’s direct CD burning feature. You can still save to CD. However, you will need to save the package as a folder on your hard disk and then use your CD burning program to copy the folder to the CD. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to File | Package For CD. In PowerPoint 2007, click the Office Button, select Publish, and click Package For CD (Figure A).

  1. Click the Copy To Folder button.
  2. Click the Browse button.
  3. In the Choose Location dialog box, navigate to the folder where you want to save the CD package folder on your hard drive (Figure B) and click Select.

  1. Click OK and then click Yes if a message box appears.
  2. Close PowerPoint.

The presentation CD is now ready for you to copy with your CD writing program. If you don’t want to use your own program, you can use the Windows XP CD Writing Wizard to save your Presentation CD folder. Follow these steps:

  1. In Windows Explorer, navigate to and right-click on the Presentation folder and then click Copy.
  2. Navigate to My Computer and open the CD drive.
  3. Right-click a blank area of the CD drive window and click Paste.
  4. Click Write These Files To CD in the left task pane.
  5. Follow the instructions in the CD Writing Wizard to copy the folder to the CD (Figure C).
