I published a gallery earlier this week showing the first images from an Alienware Area-51 7500 that I am reviewing for later this month. The Microsoft Windows Vista Welcome Screen reports that the system is operating at 2.66GHz. I was expecting to see the speed to be reported at 3.47GHz.
So I did some checking and got some confirmation from an Alienware Technical Marketing Manager, that I did indeed have an overclocked Quad Core PC on my desk. See the next screenshot.
So a word of warning, the Welcome Center in Windows Vista is not the best place to check out system properties. Be sure to navigate your way to the actual Systems Properties panel.
By the way, I’m not sure the gallery from earlier this week conveyed the size of this box – it is hanging off the edge of my desk. You’ll definitely need to allocate some extra room if you want this much power in your gaming PC.
