silicon.com has had a makeover. In the week that we will celebrate our seventh birthday perhaps it is fitting that we were itching for a change.
As always, what you now see around this story has been driven by you, our readers. As such, as well as enhanced navigation and more ambition with our in-depth coverage, you will see new and improved content.
When we say new, we are talking about content types such as case studies and photo stories. These will be central to our offering from now on.
With this redesign we also add a section called CxO Extra. We have always catered for executives who didn’t come up through the IT department – but who often make key IT decisions – and now is the time to highlight the best of our jargon-free content.
CxO Extra builds on the success of our unique CIO Jury feature. Now 18 months old, we will continue to speak to the UK’s leading users, giving them an enlarged and multidimensional platform to share with their peers and more chances to debate all types of issues.
Also improved is our unrivalled stable of columnists. They now get their own sections and in some cases, such as Peter Cochrane, move to a blog format that means more frequent updates from across the globe.
Meanwhile we have also taken care to place content in context around articles, including our popular Cheat Sheets as well as links to videos, white papers and the most popular stories within certain channels.
