SOA: nothing new but difference matters

Gartner fellow, Daryl Plummer agrees that nothing is new in principle with SOA, but that the lower requirements for technical knowledge make all the difference in the world.

It’s no secret that the qualities espoused by SOA advocates can be cynically dismissed as a recreation of technology principles that have all been seen before.

Some would say that it is a long way from software engineering to journalism, others would correctly argue that it is a mere 10 metres according to the floor plan.
