Deal Streamlines Services Procurement Process for IT Pros;
Positions TechRepublic for Future Growth Opportunities
LOUISVILLE, Ky., August 28, 2000—As part of its growth strategy, TechRepublic (, the leading online destination developed exclusively for IT professionals by IT professionals, announced today its acquisition of, an emerging business-to-business information technology marketplace connecting buyers and sellers of information technology services.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. TechRepublic is an independent subsidiary of Gartner Group, Inc. (NYSE: IT and ITB).

ITRadar and its 75 employees will continue to operate from its Minneapolis location.

The acquisition will provide TechRepublic’s more than 800,000 registered members easy access to’s established network of 3,800 IT services firms offering IT implementation, consulting, and staffing solutions in more than 50 local markets across the United States and Canada.

The deal enables TechRepublic to accelerate the expansion of its e-commerce offering, as the company embarks on a new phase of growth and development that will add new products, services, and partners to its award-winning site.

Created by industry experts, ITRadar helps IT pros achieve better results, increase levels of quality service, and save valuable time when searching for and selecting an IT services provider. According to ITRadar data, more than three-fourths of all IT pros say that finding the IT services solution that best meets their needs is their number one priority.
