Microsoft has released a new version of their MP3 player, the Zune HD. Our friends over at iFixit got hold of one of these devices and cracked it open so we could take a closer look. The Zune HD was a long time coming, but the hardware found inside the device may well have been worth it.
The Microsoft Zune HD sports a 3.3 inch OLED display and capacitive touch screen and it is powered by the nVidia Tegra processor which supports OpenGL ES 2.0 and programmable pixel shaders. The Zune HD has hardware and processing power that compares favorably with the other high-profile multimedia player in the market, the Apple iPod Touch.
