Every year the silicon.com CIO50 list celebrates the most influential and innovative tech chiefs in the UK across both the public and private sector.
We compile the list from the votes of UK CIOs, who are asked to vote on the performance of their peers over the last 12 months, taking into account their leadership ability; delivery and execution record; innovation; and influence.
The CIOs who voted this year include executives from some of the largest organisations in the UK, from retail, manufacturing and financial services companies through to central and local government bodies.
This year we had a record number of votes from the UK’s IT heads, and more CIOs than ever before were nominated by their peers to be included in the list. The list was unveiled at an exclusive networking reception attended by the CIOs on the 2010 list, as well as tech chiefs who have made the list in previous years.
