For Research In Motion, everything is riding on the success of BlackBerry 10.

To gain a deeper understanding of this gesture-based interface that tries to do away with applications as silos, we sat down with RIM’s vice president of user experience design, Don Lindsay.

Lindsay talked about the design influences on BlackBerry 10, issues encountered by doing away with a home-style button, and compromises made by having so many development toolkits to support on the platform.
