As things go, the use of online presentations and meetings are on the increase, the technology is getting more bandwidth efficient, the minimum user hardware and software requirements are easily met.

As an example of bandwidth efficiency I recently witnessed first hand someone using Adobe Breeze Live to deliver an impromptu online meeting from an international flight equipped with airborne internet.

From a Singapore Airlines flight over China an Adobe employee was chatting and using a webcam to show the view out the window of the plane, swivelling it later to show the cabin as well. The only software required for both presenter and viewer is the Flash Player.

I’ve since heard of another Breeze Live online seminar being delivered from the backseat of one of those infamous yellow New York Taxis, making use of a wireless internet connection. If bandwidth is the challenge, particularly with remote users here in Australia, perhaps it’s a challenge no more.
