If you’re constantly looking for the best way to browse sites on your Android phone, you’ve probably gone through nearly every browser on the mobile planet. But chances are that none of those browsers have made the process much easier. You’re on a small platform, and no matter how you pinch, rotate, or zoom, that content isn’t always easy to navigate or read.

What if I told you there was an add-on for a browser that will make viewing a lot easier? The Dolphin Browser offers an add-on called Webzine that displays content (from specific sites) as easy-to-use blocks for individual stories and removes all other elements from the site. By viewing a site this way, it’s easier to get to the heart of the matter — the content.


Webzine allows you to:

  • See all the latest articles on specific sites with one tap
  • Go to the full article (on the fully rendered page) with a double tap
  • Select content from over 300 sources on topics (including lifestyle, music, technology, and business)
  • View updates from Facebook and Twitter
  • Read cached content offline

Let’s walk through the process of installing and using the Webzine add-on.

Installation

Since this is an add-on, you must first have the Dolphin Browser installed. If you don’t already have Dolphin installed, follow these easy steps:

  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Search for “dolphin browser” (no quotes)
  3. Tap Install
  4. Tap Accept & download
  5. Allow the installation to complete

Now, install the Webzine add-on with these steps:

  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Search for “webzine” (no quotes)
  3. Tap the entry for Dolphin Webzine
  4. Tap Install
  5. Tap Accept & download
  6. Allow the installation to complete

Usage

Fire up the Dolphin Browser and swipe the screen to the left. In this new sidebar (Figure A), you’ll see the Webzine add-on listed.

Tap the Webzine add-on entry to open the Webzine tab (Figure B). From here, you can visit the default Webzine content, or you can quickly add your own.

There’s only a small bit of pre-added content, but there’s plenty more waiting.

To add new content to the Webzine tab, do the following:

  1. From the Webzine tab, tap the More button
  2. Tap the View More button
  3. Scroll down until you find the content you wish to add
  4. Tap the listing for the content
  5. When the content page opens (Figure C), tap the Home+ button to add the page to the home page

To view a piece of content, single tap the listing. From here (Figure D), you can read the blurb and then tap the View Original Article (which will open up the full site in a standard Dolphin tab).

Facebook and Twitter

To view your Facebook and Twitter updates, do the following:

  1. Tap on either the Facebook or Twitter buttons on the Webzine tab
  2. Enter your credentials for the site from within the offered page (Figure E)
  3. Tap Authorize app
  4. View your updates

You can also post updates to the social sites by tapping the post button from within the feed page. When you tap that, the update window will appear, where you can type your update and then tap Post (Figure F).

In some ways, this is even easier than using the official Twitter app!
