I recently had the opportunity to download and Install Messenger 8.0 Beta. I am enjoying the new “Windows Live” suite of products. The install (see Flickr Gallery) went smoothly and I am enjoying the added functionality.

Note: I have attached a thumbnail view of the gallery above as well.

The Windows Messenger interface is very similar to most of the messenger clients available today. You can add contacts, play a game, play videos, make your own messages and themes, start a video conversation, share a folder, etc.

Let’s talk more about the folder sharing feature. In the past you would have to send a file to a user in order to have them see a picture. With Messenger 8.0, you can create a single group or user and share out files on your computer. It stores them in My Sharing Folders in My Documents. Examples of how to configure this feature are also located in my Flickr gallery.

Check it out and let me know what you think? I have some Beta Invites to give away. If you want to try it, send me an email to stevenswarren@gmail.com or add a comment with your email address below.
