In my last post,
I showed you how to de-clutter your system tray. You can take this one step
further by disabling any unnecessary start-up services to boost performance. Lets walk through this process.
- Click Start | Run and
type msconfig.
The System Configuration Utility appears.
- Click on the Startup tab and disable any applicable Startup
Items by deselecting the checkbox and clicking OK.
This will force a reboot and when the system restarts, you
will be prompted with a message
that states you have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to
the way Windows starts.
