Budget airline easyJet has named Trevor Didcock as its new CIO.
Didcock will be responsible for all aspects of IT and telecoms across easyJet and sits on the airline's management board, reporting to CEO Carolyn McCall.
"I am very privileged to be taking on one of the most exciting jobs in IT," Didcock said in a statement. "easyJet is well known for innovative thinking, both in our business model and how we use technology," he said.
Didcock's career has included stints as head of IT at Mars Confectionery, CIO for AA and most recently CIO of domestic emergency repairs business HomeServe.
As CIO for the AA, Didcock played an important role in ensuring the smooth transition of IT systems during the AA's separation from parent company Centrica and reduced IT operating costs by 40 per cent.
Didcock was also ranked in the top 50 most influential CIOs by silicon.com in 2008.
He replaces former CIO Tim Newing, who is retiring from easyJet.
