Financial services company Standard Life has appointed a new head of IT.
Christian Torkington will take over the role of group information and operations director from 1 March.
Torkington has held a number of roles in the financial services sector, joining Standard Life from RSA, where he was latterly COO.
He has also held positions at Barclays and Scottish Widows, and has previously worked in consulting.
Standard Life's former group IT director Keith Young left last year after 20 years at the company. Torkington will take on a wider role than Young, having responsibility for both technology and operations.
He "will focus on developing and implementing our technology strategy and processes that underpin our day-to-day operations", Standard Life said.
