After Hours

In a world where Machinima is actually watchable

While still a nascent film genre, Machinima is quickly moving toward a mainstream art form. This trailer gives you a taste of what can be accomplished by a creative person with time and a passion for online games. World of Warcraft is particularly well-suited for parody because so much of the game references modern culture.

The VOIG.com Web site claims a real feature-length Machinima film is in the works, but I am skeptical about the "full-length" part. But even if it is just a short, the trailer has me anxious to see it. By the way, VOIG.com has hundreds of Machinima shorts from all sorts of games available. With the continuing writer's strike in Hollywood, Machinima may be the way to go if you are tired of reruns, game shows, and "reality" television.
